Pittsburgh Penguins Sign 6-Foot-1 Swedish Forward

Despite not playing in North America since 2022/23, the Pittsburgh Penguins have now re-signed a talented 24-year old Swedish forward.
Hallander would make his NHL debut in 2021/22, and despite playing just three games over the two years, he was showing immense progress in the AHL with
the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, to the point that many believed in him as a solid middle-six forward of the future for Pittsburgh.
However, he headed back to Sweden in the last few years, and in 2024/25 he finally hit his strides, tallying 26 goals and 53 points in 51 games played in the Swedish Hockey League, and now, the Penguins have officially re-signed him to a two-year deal.
That 53 point outburst ranked Hallander second in the entire SHL, and with great size at 6-foot-1, the belief is that this production could translate and he could finally be getting a good shot at the NHL.
At 24-years of age, Hallander's development has not been as quick as some would have hoped, but he's now at the point where he can confidently take the leap to whichever level is needed, and whether that sees him end up in the AHL or the NHL, only time will tell.
For now though, hopes are high for the talented young forward, and if he continues to work and grow the way he has, there's no doubting that he could still be a good NHL forward in time.
