Marc-Andre Fleury's Penguins farewell is upcoming, and now, the roster for that matchup is starting to take shape, and it's full of Penguins legends.
Earlier this off-season, the Pittsburgh Penguins made a shocking announcement, revealing that Marc-Andre Fleury
signed a PTO with the team to return one last time and bid farewell to the organization he's most synonymous with.
That game is now set to take place on Saturday night, with Penguins fans gearing up to see their hero one last time before he officially heads into retirement from the National Hockey League.
Penguins' Lines for Fleury Homecoming Begin to Emerge Ahead of the Weekend
Before we get to that however, the Penguins have a Friday pre-season tilt with the Detroit Red Wings, and now, the
lines for that game have been revealed, giving us answers for the Saturday night game.
Unsurprisingly,
Sidney Crosby,
Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang are all out Friday, meaning that unless something changes, they'll be on the ice with Fleury for one last time in his career.
Beyond that, the Penguins are also likely to have Rust, Rakell and Karlsson all on the ice for that game as well, as the team appears very aware that this needs to be a loaded lineup in order for the fans to get their moneys worth.
Make no mistake however, the star of the show is the goaltender that made his name with the Penguins after being the No. 1 overall pick back in 2003, and with the fans getting the opportunity to see him one final time before retirement, it will be emotional and amazing for fans to see his long-time teammates out there with him too.
