'Shortcuts Stop Long Runs': Kyle Dubas Slaps Back at Sidney Crosby's Agent

Since Kyle Dubas arrived in Pittsburgh, the team have clearly begun pushing towards a rebuild, and after missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs for three straight seasons, it's the move that needs to be made for the organization.

Unsurprisingly, that's ruffled the feathers of some veterans, namely captain Sidney Crosby, who has been with the team for the past 20 years, with many speculating he could request a trade if the Penguins do move towards a rebuild.

According to recent reports, Sidney Crosby and his agent Pat Brisson were looking to get Dubas to push through the rebuild and speed it up to become competitive again sooner, with the GM responding with a simple phrase.

Dubas also revealed he's in constant contact with Brisson, but reiterates that he's the one running the show in Pittsburgh, and he's going to continue building his way for the future of the organization, as he aims to finish what he started with the Penguins.

That's a future that now has an extra three first-round picks in Ben Kindel, Bill Zonnon and William Horcoff, and with the team having multiple picks in the next two first rounds, with patience, the Penguins could be a very good team in the coming years.

It's going to get ugly before it gets better though, and with Dubas confirming that Brisson is looking to push through things, this could end up one day leading to the departure of No. 87 from the Penguins.
