Sidney Crosby's Former Teammate Reacts to Trade Rumors Linking Penguins Captain to Canadiens
Sidney Crosby's former Penguins teammate Tyler Kennedy is reacting to the rumors that link him to the Montreal Canadiens, the team he cheered for as a boy.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs in each of the last 3 years, marking the longest drought of captain and franchise icon Sidney Crosby's NHL career.
Crosby, who agreed to re-sign with the Penguins for another 2 years, could be of the mind that he wants to depart Pittsburgh and play for a team with a better chance of success this late in his career, in the eyes of many.
Former Penguins forward Tyler Kennedy, who won the Stanley Cup alongside Crosby in 2009, said that he thinks the upcoming year will be tough on Crosby and Pittsburgh, who are not expected to come close to competing for the postseason.

Kennedy then made it clear that he doesn't see Crosby requesting a trade out of Pittsburgh so that he could play for a team like the Montreal Canadiens, who he has been linked to.
I don't think Sid would jeopardize his reputation to go play for a team for a year or two. I don't think it's worth it. He has too much of a legendary career with Pittsburgh to change it last minute and go with Montreal.
This team has to do so bad that Sid wants out. They don't win one game. They are frustrating. They aren't playing him how he should be played.
