Sidney Crosby is one of the greatest NHL players in history, and even at 37-years of age, he continues to thrive as the Penguins waste his final years in the NHL.
After almost two decades in the NHL, Sidney Crosby continues to impress, and while the Pittsburgh Penguins aren't likely to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season, he's been stellar down the stretch.
In fact, Crosby has led the league in points since Canada claimed gold at the Four Nations Face Off, tallying an impressive 8 goals and 20 points since that tournament, giving the Penguins a glimpse of hope.
Not only that, but at 37-years of age, Crosby is tied for the league lead in 5v5 points this season, and has 12 points over his last seven games, showing that even as he ages, Crosby's game shows absolutely no signs of slowing down.
While these numbers are incredible and show that No. 87 is clearly solidifying himself as arguably the greatest NHL player of all time, but even for Penguins fans, the belief seems to be that the franchise are wasting the final years of an all-time great.
Loyalty is certainly something to be admired, but with little hope for the next few years, the calls, even from Pittsburgh fans have continued for the team to trade the 37-year old so he can have one or more final shot at Stanley Cup glory.
Ultimately, it's highly unlikely that the team are going to move their captain and franchise icon, but with him showing this type of production at his age, they'd get a fantastic return for him in a move that would likely be best for both parties.
