Yesterday, we wrote about how the Pittsburgh Penguins captain, Sidney Crosby, could break a record held by Jaromir Jagr, as well as another one held by Wayne Gretzky, in the game against the Ottawa Senators.
He did exactly that when he scored the only goal of the game in overtime to give his team the win against the Senators.
After the game, Crosby shared insights on the tight game against the Senators:
"I thought we had some good [chances]. You always want to try to get more bodies and pucks to the net. There are always games where you look back after the fact and think about, maybe, opportunities you could have just put there. Maybe there were a couple of those. But I thought, for the most part, we did a pretty good job of generating chances."
Despite the Penguins' struggles this season, Crosby still managed to have an impressive season. His team may be in a tough position ahead of the playoffs, but Crosby remains on top of his game, just as he has been for his whole career.
Here's what he said in a recent interview:
"Consistency and work ethic and passion ... it's a responsibility that you have to each other,» Crosby told NHL.com on March 17. «I think that consistency, it's always a work in progress. Every day is not perfect.
There are times that are more difficult than others during the year. I always try to keep that in mind. But that doesn't mean you're not going to have bad days or days where you're not at your best, but you try not to let them bunch together."
