Sidney Crosby has had plenty of success on the ice, and now he's partnering with a former teammate in an intriguing business venture away from it.
The Pittsburgh Penguins may not be thriving in 2024/25, but once again it's been an incredible campaign for captain Sidney Crosby, who continues to cement himself as one of, if not the greatest player in NHL history.
However, he's not ignoring potential ventures away from the ice, as it has now been revealed that Crosby is partnering with former Penguin Mark Streit and buying a stake in his watch business: NORQAIN.
The watch brand was promoted most recently by current NHL superstar
Roman Josi, who featured on their social media ads, and now, Crosby has become a major shareholder in the company.
Unsurprisingly, Streit, who played 19 games with the Penguins in their Stanley Cup winning campaign of 2016-17 was delighted to work with Crosby again, calling it a thrill.
«Our time at the Penguins was incredibly rewarding - we developed a great understanding on the ice and a deep friendship off it."
The Swiss watch brand was originally founded back in 2018, with Crosby noting that they were handed out at the NHL All-Star Game back in 2019, revealing that he's been wearing them ever since.
«I am excited to work with NORQAIN and see what we can do together moving forward."
At this point, it appears to be a fantastic business opportunity for Crosby, who has had plenty of success both on the ice and financially away from it, and this was simply a chance he couldn't pass up as he now looks to set himself up for life after the NHL, whenever that comes.
