Sidney Crosby Ranked Ahead of Several NHL Superstars in New Poll With Over 665,000 Answers

While the future of Pittsburgh Penguins captain and longtime franchise icon Sidney Crosby remains a topic of debate, one thing that is not up for debate is his status as one of the League's top players.

Despite the Penguins missing the postseason for the 3rd straight year, which now marks the longest drought of Crosby's NHL career, he still impressed this year with 91 points (33G, 58A) while missing only 2 games.

And it's clear that fans still hold him in high regard, even at 37.

Per JFreshHockey, a writer for EPRinkside, a recent polling of over 8,300 fans resulted in Crosby still being viewed as a top-10 player in the NHL, coming in at No. 7 overall behind Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Nathan MacKinnon, Nikita Kucherov, Aleksander Barkov, and Auston Matthews.

Sidney Crosby recently agreed to a 2-year extension with the Penguins, keeping him in town through 2027. But he's being discussed as potentially wanting to leave Pittsburgh when the contract of his fellow Penguins icon Evgeni Malkin expires next summer.

Whether or not Crosby decides to chase 1 more Stanley Cup before he hangs up the skates remains to be seen, but his status as one of the best players in the League remains unchanged.
