Sidney Crosby's agent recently kept the door open to the possibility of a trade, and now it's been revealed that 87 had no idea that was going to happen.
This summer, the NHL has been quiet, and it's obviously led to plenty of speculation about big time trades, with Sidney Crosby's name being at the centre of much of that speculation, despite not publicly wanting to move on from Pittsburgh.
To this point, Crosby has denied wanting to request a trade from the Penguins, as he remains committed to the team he's spent the last two decades with, but his agent may have other plans after his recent comments.
Pat Brisson keeps the door open to the possibility of a trade
In a recent interview, Crosby's long-time agent Pat Brisson noted that
'it's always a possibility' when asked about a potential trade from Pittsburgh, something that came as a major shock to the NHL.
Now, The Athletic's Josh Yohe has revealed a shocking detail of that, noting that Crosby was not aware that Brisson was going to make such comments, meaning they likely came as a major shock to him as well, which is something that likely didn't go down well for 87.
However, in contradiction to that, Crosby once more reaffirmed his loyalty to the Penguins recently, revealing that as of right now, he has absolutely no interest in requesting a trade from the Penguins.
These are two very conflicting statements from Crosby's camp, but given how important the player is to his franchise, we should take his comments at face value and not expect anything major out of the Crosby camp right now.
