Ticket Prices Skyrocketing for Marc-Andre Fleury's Return to Pittsburgh

On Friday, the Pittsburgh Penguins made the shock announcement that for one game, the team have signed former goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, who will play a pre-season game on September 27th to officially retire as a member of the organization.

That game unsurprisingly is now drawing plenty of attention, with so many Penguins fans wanting to be in attendance to bid farewell to one of the franchise's all-time great players that helped them to three Stanley Cup victories.

Many believed that Fleury played his final game a season ago with the Minnesota Wild, but now that he's got another in him, fans are incredibly excited.

That has now led to an increase in ticket pricing, with a recent photo showing that even in the 200's level, tickets are going for over $280, with fans clamouring to see their hero one last time.

It's unclear if the Penguins will do anything to combat this second-hand market, but given the demand, it's no surprise that people are asking this type of money to see Fleury's farewell, as it will be a once in a lifetime game to say goodbye to a legend.

Similar things will happen as fans want to say goodbye to the likes of Crosby, Malkin and Letang one day, but for now, it's one of the NHL's most popular goaltenders, and if you want to get in to say that matchup, it's going to cost quite a lot.
