Top NHL Insider Confirms Who Will Be The Next Pittsburgh Penguins Head Coach

The Pittsburgh Penguins have been patient in their Head Coach search this off-season, and while they've seen many big names fall off the board, it appears as though they've had their eyes on some interesting candidates all along.

Now, despite having several options, it has all but been confirmed by NHL Insider Cam Robinson that the team will be hiring Washington Capitals assistant coach Mitch Love.

This comes less than 24 hours after Robinson confirmed that Marco Sturm will be the next Head Coach of the Boston Bruins, and given that the Penguins need to look to the future beyond their current crop of veteran stars, hiring Love is seen as a very good move.

The 40-year old was once the Head Coach of the AHL's Calgary Wranglers, and after this news broke, fans noted how upset they were that he didn't become the coach of the Calgary Flames, showing just how respected Love is around the league.

The Penguins haven't yet made this news official, and it's not being widely reported on by some of the league's top names, but given all of the reports around Love to Pittsburgh in the past week, it's a matter of when, not if this happens.

Only time will tell whether or not this is the right move for the Penguins, but Love is a highly thought of coach in the NHL, and if the Penguins make this news official, it will be seen as a major win for Kyle Dubas and this organization as they look to move towards the future.
