TSN Proposes Beautiful Way to Honour Sidney Crosby's Legacy

For over two decades, Sidney Crosby has dominated the NHL, putting together a career with the Pittsburgh Penguins that 99% of players throughout the history of the league would be envious of.

Approaching his 21st season in the league however, it's clear that there may only be a few years left in his career at the highest level, and with the Penguins clearly struggling, it's unclear just how much longer things can continue the way they have.

In his career, Crosby has won Hart Trophies, gold medals, accumulated many All Star appearances and won three Stanley Cups, but there's one thing as of yet that isn't on his resume.

That is the cover of an NHL video game, and it's not for a lack of trying, as he has been asked before, but to this point he has turned it down, with BarDown and TSN suggesting this may be the best way to honour 87's iconic career.

Whether it's an NHL 26 Legacy Edition cover or the full cover of the NHL 27 video game, it's an honour that Crosby deserves, and while he's been hesitant thus far, knowing how this could immortalize his incredible career, it's an achievement that many in the NHL hope he is given.

For now though, the video game will likely look to focus on stars of the future rather than veterans, and with so many stars in today's game, there are many right choices, but as Crosby's career comes to an end, this is one honour he deserves, so we will wait and see if he's given it.
