Updates emerge on injured Penguins forwards Malkin, Lizotte, and Hallander

The Penguins had a welcome sight at practice today, as injured forwards Evgeni Malkin, Blake Lizotte, and Filip Hallander all worked out on the ice.
The Pittsburgh Penguins received a welcome flash of hope Wednesday morning at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex as three hurt forwards made their way back out onto the ice prior to practice.

Evgeni Malkin, Blake Lizotte, and Filip Hallander were sharing a session. Malkin is the team's second-line center. He has eight goals and 29 points in his 26 games, but has been sidelined for the past several weeks.

He went on IR earlier this month because of his upper-body injury and is listed as week-to-week.
Lizotte, like Malkin on IR, has missed the last five contests. This fourth-line winger with penalty-killing skills has scored three goals with five points in 26 games.
Why Filip Hallander immediately left the team after they returned from their Sweden trip
Hallander, a young forward, had just returned from Sweden and had four points in 13 games, including his first goal in the NHL, before he was forced out of action by a blood clot. He will be out for several more weeks.
This meeting on the ice marks a good outlook for the team as the Penguins are looking to solidify their roster, especially when faced with a challenging period ahead in the league.
