Auston Matthews Calls Out His Entire Team After Embarrassing Performance
The Buffalo Sabres dominated the Toronto Maple Leafs with an impressive 9-3 victory last night in Buffalo.
After the tough loss, Auston Matthews didn't mince words when expressing his dissatisfaction with his team's performance.
Matthews Calls Out the Leafs Following 9-3 Loss
It was a night to forget for Leafs fans as their team struggled from start to finish, facing a resounding defeat from one of their division rivals.
Matthews shared his thoughts on the disappointing night:
"Embarrassing is probably the right word to use from start to finish, top to bottom, not nearly good enough. Just a bad hockey game from our team. Collectively, probably one of the worst games since I have been here. It's hard to pinpoint one thing. I think it was all just disappointing."
Despite the overall letdown, Matthews did provide a silver lining with a spectacular goal in the first period, tying the game.
Zooming into the offensive zone with speed, he executed two spin-o-rama-like moves before taking a shot from a challenging angle.

While the game may have left many Leafs fans feeling like they wasted their evening, Matthews' remarkable goal offers a glimmer of consolation.
