Sheldon Keefe didn't mince words when discussing Tyler Bertuzzi's performance in a recent interview, and it wasn't a glowing review. Check out Keefe's candid remarks about the star forward below.

In his debut season with the Leafs, Tyler Bertuzzi is grappling with challenges, and it hasn't escaped the notice of head coach Sheldon Keefe. Despite clocking 19 points in 42 games, Bertuzzi is struggling to hit his stride, even when paired with William Nylander and John Tavares.

In a recent interview, Keefe didn't shy away from sharing his candid thoughts on Bertuzzi's season, emphasizing the need for improvement.

"I would say inconsistent," Keefe remarked when asked about Bertuzzi's recent play. "For me, it has taken a while to get going in each game that we have played of late. When the game gets going, he is in it and he is competitive. At times, the game gets away from him a little bit early."

Bertuzzi, not recognized for prolific goal-scoring, holds a career-high of 62 points, achieving 30 goals in a single season.

The Leafs are grappling with a tough stretch, suffering their fourth consecutive loss, this time at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers. Struggling to maintain leads has been a recurring issue for the Leafs this season, prompting fan frustration.

«What a disaster. Leafs D-Zone is atrocious right now. Can't hold leads. How many multi-goal leads the boys in blue going to give up? WHAT THE F*CK IS GOING ON??? #LeafsForever»

Seeking a rebound, the Leafs aim to overcome the Calgary Flames, that was once led by GM Brad Treliving, in the second game of their ongoing four-game road trip tomorrow night.
