insider reveals if Mitch Marner will accept a trade out of Toronto
With all of the rumors flying around about possible roster changes, the Toronto Maple Leafs are probably going to be the most interesting team to follow this summer.
The Maple Leafs won't likely start the 2024–25 season with the same core they had after losing to their Boston Bruins, another Original Six opponent, in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Due to pay concerns, it will be challenging to trade any of their top players. Although supporters disagree over which players should stay put and which ones should depart,
Auston Matthews is one name that can be scratched off the list. Matthews is one of the only untouchable players on the Maple Leafs squad.
Mitch Marner, the forward for the Maple Leafs, hasn't exactly won over Maple Leafs fans with his play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He's been the victim quite a few times, but he fails to perform when the Maple Leafs need him most, and this summer, he may be leaving Toronto.
Mitch Marner is allegedly open to a trade this summer, according to NHL Network's Steve Kouleas, who also listed the Anaheim Ducks, Nashville Predators, and San Jose Sharks.
John Tavares, the captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs, expressed his desire to stay with the team through the 2024–25 season and the remaining year of his contract before becoming an unrestricted free agency in July 2025, according to Kouleas.
"Mitch Marner is reportedly "not against" a move this summer, while Tavares appears to be more keen on staying and playing out the final year of his contract.
Some potential suitors include Anaheim, Nashville, and San Jose due to their cap flexibility. [via: @stevekouleas]

There will be no shortage of suitors if the Maple Leafs decide to listen to offers or shop Mitch Marner. It might only take a shift in environment for Marner, who is a good player, to get going in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. It's probable that Mitch Marner is starting to feel the strain of competing in such a large market as Toronto.
