Morgan Rielly has been at the centre of trade speculation in recent times, and although he as a no-trade clause, a recent social media act has sparked rumours.
While there hasn't been many blockbuster moves in the NHL this off-season, there has been plenty of speculation, and after the Toronto Maple Leafs traded both
Mitch Marner and
Ryan Reaves, there's also been plenty of rumours surrounding veteran defenseman Morgan Rielly.
The 31-year old is the longest tenured Maple Leaf, arriving in Toronto way back in 2013/14, and thus far, he's been a constant on their blue line, giving 100% every opportunity he steps on the ice.
Now however, it appears his future could lie elsewhere, as there has been plenty of reports that the team could look to push him into waiving his no-trade clause to facilitate a move and bring in an upgrade on the blue line.
We may now have our best hint yet that something is happening, as Rielly recently de-activated his social media accounts with rumours swirling, with some taking this as a hint that his future may not be in Toronto after all.
There's always a chance that this is just a coincidence, but given how much talk there has been around Rielly, it's hard not to see this as something more, and a potential opportunity for Kyle Dubas to swoop in and land one of his favourite players from his tenure in Toronto.
It's unclear if there would be a fit with Rielly in Pittsburgh, whether Dubas would be interested in bringing him in or whether this latest act has anything to do with his future in the National Hockey League, but for Maple Leafs, Penguins and general NHL fans, this is certainly something to keep a very close eye on.
