New Frontrunner Reportedly Emerging for Carter Hart After Reports of Ties to Pittsburgh

After being cleared to return to the NHL mid-way through the 2025/26 campaign, Carter Hart has been drawing significant interest in the National Hockey League, with several teams reaching out to the former Philadelphia Flyers goaltender.

One of those teams was reportedly the Pittsburgh Penguins, and while no progress was made on talks between the two parties, other candidates are now emerging as genuine landing spots for Hart.

Despite already having the duo of Karel Vejmelka and Vitek Vanecek in net, the Utah Mammoth are reportedly a team interest in Carter Hart, according to the latest report from Darren Dreger on First Up 1050, as he reveals that they have taken a 'good look' at the controversial netminder.

Unsurprisingly, little is known about how much these teams have pushed to land Hart, as the five players from the 2018 Team Canada World Juniors squad aren't able to sign with a new team until October.

However, they are able to be in contact with these teams, with Philadelphia, Carolina, Pittsburgh and now Utah all confirmed to have some level of interest in the talented 27-year old goaltender.

With so many options, we likely won't know where Hart is going to end up until closer to his allowed signing date, but with so many teams around the NHL needing goaltending help ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, expect more parties to be interested in him along with these teams before then.
