The Vegas Golden Knights have had a horror run with injury as of late, and now, they've confirmed that Alex Pietrangelo will miss their next game as well.
Ahead of their matchup with the Minnesota Wild, the Golden Knights revealed on social media that veteran defenseman Alex Pietrangelo would miss the game with a lower-body injury.
On top of that, they noted that he would be considered day-to-day moving forward, and while that doesn't bode well for the immediate future, as of now, it doesn't appear that there are any fears he could miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season.
In positive news,
Shea Theodore will be back on the ice for the Golden Knights, but with less than a month to go until the post-season, they need to find their consistent lineup, and they simply can't do that if their key veterans continue to go down.
At this point in time, Vegas hold a five point lead on both the Los Angeles Kings and Edmonton Oilers in the Pacific Division race, and with 12 games to go, now is the time for them to find their groove as they look to reach their third Stanley Cup Finals in team history.
Ultimately though, this one is a tough blow against Minnesota, but with no fears of a long-term injury, Pietrangelo should be back in time to spare before the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin, which is a little bit of good news for a team that's dealt with plenty of injuries this season.
