Fans have long debated the careers of Ovechkin and Crosby, with many arguing that each of them are the greatest of their generation.
Crosby certainly has the accolades in the form of individual trophies, and he has two more Stanley Cups, but Ovechkin certainly has him beat in goals.
But while the two players are fierce competitors and bitter rivals, they are also friends who respect and admire each other.
Ovechkin recently revealed that he has special plans with Crosby after the two legends finally retire, whenever that might be as both players seem to still have a lot left in the tank.
Apparently, the great eight would love to spend some time with Sid the kid and reflect on their careers over a few beers when that time comes.
Ovechkin has 895 goals and 1619 points in 1487 career games while Crosby is up to 622 goals and 1682 points in 1347 games.
Both players are locks to make the Hockey Hall of Fame on the first ballot and we are all blessed to have been able to enjoy their careers.
