According to a statement put out by the Capitals, the organization has relieved Mitch Love of his duties as an assistant coach.
Love is a name that might be familiar to Penguins fans as the organization was considering him for their head coaching vacancy before ultimately hiring Dan Muse instead.
Before his tenure with the Capitals, Love was the head coach of the Calgary Flames AHL affiliate the Wranglers.
