Pair of AHLers throw caution to the wind in violent and entertaining hockey fight
The season may have just started, but if anyone wants to dethrone Jeffrey Viel and Alex Gallant for Fight of the Year, they certainly have their work cut out for them after the two AHLers engaged in one of the most brutal and entertaining fights in recent memory.
Viel of the Manitoba Moose and Gallant of the Calgary Wranglers decided to drop the gloves in the first period of last night's game and took no prisoners, throwing caution to the wind and ignoring any defense whatsoever in an attempt to inflict maximum damage on one antoher.
Is anyone else surprised that both of these guys remained standing throughout this one? These two warriors threw bomb after bomb at one another with both combatants landing some huge shots. As an avid hockey fight fan, I'm impressed.
It's not often that you see guys go at one another like this. Most of the time, you have two players who are looking to tie one another up to prevent them from being able to throw a clean punch and trying to shake an arm loose to land a few shots of your own. This one was certainly a barn-burner and brought everyone in Winnipeg to their feet.
