Former top-10 pick Nick Ritchie faces an eight-game suspension from the Finnish Liiga for his aggressive actions against a defenseless player.
Ritchie's Eight-Game Suspension Unveiled
During yesterday's game in the Finnish Liiga, forward Nick Ritchie committed an offense that led to a five-minute major and a game misconduct.
Today, it was revealed that he is handed an eight-game suspension for his actions.
Nick Ritchie has been suspended eight games by Liiga for punching a defenceless opponent in the head multiple times.
Ritchie, initially the 10th overall pick in the 2014 NHL draft by the Anaheim Ducks, has had a journeyman career, playing for Anaheim, Boston, Toronto, Arizona, and Calgary.
After a recent tryout with the St. Louis Blues didn't result in a contract, Ritchie ventured overseas to play in Finland.
