Los Angeles Kings Forward Arthur Kaliyev Receives a Hearing Following Dirty, Dangerous Knee
The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today that Los Angeles Kings forward, Arthur Kaliyev, will have a hearing today for kneeing Anaheim Ducks forward, Chase De Leo, on Tuesday 4-1 win over the Ducks.
Kaliyev was assessed a two-minute minor penalty in the second period after the incident. De Leo left the game with a lower-body injury and did not return to the game.
Kaliyev, 22, was drafted by the Kings with the 33rd overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft. The Uzbekistani-born native made his NHL debut on February 2, 2021, against the Anaheim Ducks and scored his first goal in the very same game.
We will provide an update as more information trickles in from the Department of Player Safety following Kaliyev's hearing. The LA Kings next play tomorrow, October 5th, against the San Jose Sharks, In Los Angeles, so I'd imagine we'll know his fate well ahead of tomorrow's game.
