NHL announces huge new programming partnership with ESPN
NHL fans have been very critical of Gary Bettman and his performance as Commissioner. Fans have been critical of the flat salary cap and a lack of marketing of the league's stars and how it has caused the growth of the game to stagnant. While fans have wanted something new and interesting the league has instead provided board advertisements and jersey ads instead.
Today the league took a step in the right direction. The NHL officially announced a new partnership with ESPN to help grow the game. The league will officially follow in the footsteps of the NFL and their very popular "Red Zone" product, creating an NHL alternative known as "Frozen Frenzy".
The NHL will have their own version of the «NFL Redzone» 👁️
It'll be called «Frozen Frenzy» and it will be on ESPN, beginning on October 24th when all 32 teams play. Hosted by John Buccigross, the studio will be bouncing around every games.
This new experience will give fans an immersive experience and will allow spectators to keep up on all the action on the NHL schedule. This is an extremely positive move for the NHL and should truly help grow the game.
