Tomas Tatar heads West signing a brand new contract
After weeks of rumors Tomas Tatar has finally found a new home. Today it was announced that the Colorado Avalanche are adding Tatar and his scoring to their roster ahead of training camp.
According to multiple sources, the Avalanche and Tatar have agreed on a 1 year deal worth $1.5 million.
Tatar, 32, spent the previous two seasons with the New Jersey Devils, where he played in a middle-six role.
In 82 games for New Jersey last season, Tatar had 48 points (20 goals, 28 assists), 30 penalty minutes and was a plus-41. However, he struggled in the playoffs scoring just 1 goal in 12 games.
Adding a player like Tomas Tatar could be huge boost for the Avalanche. This is a low-risk signing at only $1.5 million for one-year, but if he's able to put up 20 goals or more for the seventh time in his NHL career, it'll help an Avalanche team who needs some depth scoring this year.
