James Van Riemsdyk finally signs PTO following Summer of uncertainty
James Van Riemsdyk is 35 years old and has 1011 NHL games under his belt which means he is certainly entering the final stages of his career.
After a season in Boston in which he had 38 points in 71 games, JVR has been struggling to find another home in the NHL. Although he has the ability to be productive, teams have been fairly hesitant about signing him to a deal. Well, that appears to have officially changed.
According to multiple sources, it is being said that JVR has signed a PTO with the Seattle Kraken. This is a low risk play for Seattle who will only keep JVR around if he performs well at training camp.
Van Riemsdyk is mostly known for playing with the Philadelphia Flyers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He has 311 goals in his career and 318 assists. He is a well-liked guy and we're sure he would add some depth and some leadership to the Kraken locker room. Only time will tell whether or not that move works out for him.
