Nazem Kadri Reacts After Being Left Off Team Canada's Olympic Orientation Camp Roster
Team Canada have named their initial roster for the 2026 Olympic Games, and after a major snub, Calgary Flames star Nazem Kadri has shockingly reacted.
Nazem Kadri has been one of the most consistent forwards in the NHL for quite some time, playing in all 82 games for the Calgary Flames in his three seasons with the team thus far, posting point totals of 56, 75 and 67 in that time.
Not only that, but he raises his game as the stakes get higher, and although the Flames haven't tasted playoff action in that time, he's been a fantastic player for them since arriving, shortly after being the key piece of a Stanley Cup winning team in Colorado.
This was despite players like
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins,
Bo Horvat and Quentin Byfield making the roster, and as a result, Kadri had an intriguing comment on the announcement post on social media.
His response was simple, as he posted three question marks, appearing to be as shocked as many fans were that he was not on the extended roster given the chance to fight for a roster spot at the Olympic Games.
Sure, there are other big names there who get in purely based on reputation, but given his consistency in recent years, it's easy to see why Kadri believes he should have made the team, as he's been fantastic on a losing team in recent times.
Ultimately though, there was little chance of him making the roster with so many talented centres and players like
Sam Bennett and
Tom Wilson to bring the physicality, but it's not surprising that he's frustrated by the perceived snub.
