Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby leads the star-studded 42 name list of players invited to the Olympic Camp for Canada for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
Canada will want to redeem itself after their disappointing recent loss to Denmark earlier this summer in the 2025 IIHF World Championships, and many of the usual suspects will be hoping to lead them to that redemption.
To nobody's surprise, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is leading a star-studded list of players who have been invited to the off-ice orientation camp in late August for the 2026 Canadian Olympic team.
The camp is scheduled for August 26 through August 28 in Calgary.
Crosby and Canada were upset by Denmark in the 2025 IIHF World Championships
While it looked as though Canada had all the makings of a championship team this summer, Denmark had other ideas when they dealt them a stunning defeat.
Nick Olesen's goal with 49 seconds left in their quarterfinals game against Canada gave them one of the most stunning upset wins in recent international play.
Disappointed. I mean, we got better as the tournament went on. I don't think tonight was necessarily our best but we still found a way to give ourselves the lead. Trying to play a road game with the lead, I liked where we were at but disappointing. We had a great group here.
Canada will have no shortage of star power in the Winter Olympic Games in Milan, and they'll try to avenge their stunning loss in the summer.
