Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, who will once again captain Team Canada in the Olympics, breaks his silence on the upcoming tournament.
The Olympic break is officially here, and once again, it will be Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby representing Canada as he's done so many times in his career.
Notably, Crosby scored the "golden goal" to clinch gold for Canada in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, and also led Canada to gold in the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
Last year, he captained Canada in the 4 Nations Faceoff, and will wear the "C" on his sweater yet again.
Even though he's accomplished just about everything that there is for a single player to accomplish, he still loves the challenge of international competition.
I still love it. I’m still able to compete in a game that’s getting faster and faster. I love an opportunity like 4 Nations to play for Canada, an opportunity this year to be part of the Olympic team. To see these guys up close and get to know them and see what makes them as good as they are, and get to know them on a personal level, that’s a lot of fun.
Something that I probably missed out on. - Sidney Crosby
So far this year with the Penguins, who have a much better record than most would have ever predicted, Crosby has 59 points (27G, 32A).
Sidney Crosby's Canada Teammates Continue To Marvel At Him
Crosby, one of the most respected players in the league, has the respect of his Team Canada teammates, like Connor McDavid.
Very calming presence. He’s been there playing all the big moments. - Connor McDavid
Canada first plays on Thursday against Czechia. Can Crosby eventually lead Canada to a third straight gold medal win?
