NHL insider Chris Johnston has officially ruled three teams out of the running for controversial netminder Carter Hart: the Flyers, Oilers, and Mammoth.

On a recent episode of the Chris Johnston show, the insider revealed how three teams that could use Carter Hart are now out of the running for the goaltender.
"Chris Johnston: Re Carter Hart contenders: No Philly, no Edmonton, no Utah; but there's still lots of teams out there sniffing around" - Chris Johnston Show (9/18)
The Flyers are known to have been out of the running for Hart, as he apparently wants a fresh start somewhere else. Their GM, Daniel Briere, commented on the situation:
"Briere said that Carter Hart's agent has reached out to the Flyers and told them that Hart wants a fresh start. So that door appears shut." - Charlie O'Connor

Similar to Briere, Oilers GM Stan Bowman also shot down any rumors that they were interested in any of the acquitted players from the 2018 World Junior Scandal.
"We're not looking at those types of situations." - Stan Bowman

Insider David Pagnotta has previously reported that the Utah Mammoth is a team interested in Hart.
However, Johnston has shot that report down, claiming that the Mammoth have had internal discussions about Hart and decided against him.
"They certainly had internal conversations there; they're not gonna be in on Carter Hart" - Chris Johnston

As the October 15th deadline approaches for these players to sign contracts, it seems like we will rule more teams out day by day before the final decision is made later during the season.
