The Boston Bruins are in desperate need of an elite level talent, and in the latest proposal from Heavy Sports, they land Martin Necas from the Colorado Avalanche.
Last season, the Colorado Avalanche made the shock decision to trade Mikko Rantanen to the Carolina Hurricanes, and in that deal, they landed talented forward Martin Necas, who fit in seamlessly with Nathan MacKinnon up front.
Now however, the team may potentially be looking to move him as they've failed to get a long-term extension done for the 26-year old forward, with rumours circulating that he could be traded this off-season.
Blockbuster Trade Proposal: Bruins Eye Martin Necas While Avalanche Gain Depth and Future Assets
That was the recent subject of a Heavy Sports piece, where they suggested this shocking blockbuster deal that could end up working out for both parties as the Boston Bruins acquire Martin Necas.
Boston receive: Martin Necas
Colorado receive: Pavel Zacha, 2027 first-round pick (Florida).
Last season, Necas combined for 27 goals and 83 points in 79 games played, and he showed that when he plays alongside elite level talent such as what Boston have with David Pastrnak, he can be a very productive player and even potentially an elite player in the National Hockey League.
Both parties would certainly benefit from this one, as Boston could land a legit No. 1 that they can sign to a long-term deal, while Colorado get good depth in Zacha as well as a very moveable asset that they could potentially flip for another key piece at some point this season.
Ultimately, unless an extension gets done with Necas, the Avalanche are likely to move him at some point, so doing it now and landing Zacha would be a huge win for Colorado as they look to finally make another deep Stanley Cup run.
