Sidney Crosby's future has been a major source of discussion this off-season, but now John Shannon predicts that he'll never depart the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Despite the Pittsburgh Penguins missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs for three straight seasons, captain Sidney Crosby has shown little desire thus far to leave the only NHL team that he's ever known.
John Shannon States that Sidney Crosby will never leave Pittsburgh
Although some insiders believe that Crosby will grow frustrated with the team and want to move on at some point, his loyalty thus far has remained strong for the team, and although they're headed into a rebuild, Crosby could clearly see that and still committed to the team on a two-year extension.
Now, John Shannon has addressed Crosby's future
on the Sekeres & Price Show, turning down the idea that he could pull a Ray Borque and chase a Stanley Cup, noting that Crosby already has three and has no need to do that, predicting that he'll never leave the Penguins organization.
Being drafted No. 1 overall in 2005, Crosby has remained loyal to Pittsburgh his whole career, and while he may not get the chance to chase a Stanley Cup with them, given what they've done for him over the past two decades, there's no reason for that to change now.
Ultimately, nobody but Crosby knows exactly what is going to happen with him in the coming years, but after turning 38, he's only got a few seasons left in the NHL, and after being with Pittsburgh his whole career, it shouldn't shock anyone if he remains loyal to them over the final stretch of his NHL career.
