Firstly, the Flames got themselves Jarred Tinordi who has been a journeyman over the past few years. Overall, his deal is for one year and it is worth $800K. Moreover, it is a two-way deal which makes it pretty low-risk for the Flames, who are simply trying to add some depth.
Additionally, the Flames ended up signing Tyson Barrie to a PTO. Barrie is someone who has been embroiled in numerous rumors over the past few weeks. With training camp about to begin, Barrie has finally found a new home. However, he will have to prove his worth given the fact that this is simply a professional tryout, and nothing more.
The Flames are a team that is trying to get themselves back into playoff contention. Whether or not these two signings help them do that, remains to be seen. What it will do is help bolster their defense and perhaps lighten the load for some of their top 4 guys.
