The Edmonton Oilers' recent performance has been nothing short of a downward spiral. In their latest disappointing loss to the Vancouver Canucks, the Oilers not only struggled on the ice but also faced turmoil on the bench.

The unraveling began when star players Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl engaged in heated altercations with Canucks' standouts JT Miller and Quinn Hughes, showcasing a loss of composure.

Things took a turn for the worse when head coach Jay Woodcroft received a game misconduct for unsportsmanlike conduct, departing the bench abruptly.

The Oilers eventually fell 6-2 to the Canucks, marking their third defeat against their rivals this season. Woodcroft offered a multitude of explanations post-game but failed to acknowledge the exact cause of his ejection.

McDavid, known for his composure, couldn't hide his frustration with the team's goaltending, emphasizing the need for improvement. The Oilers' struggles seem to follow a predictable pattern this season, leaving fans questioning Woodcroft's future as they anticipate a crucial matchup against the San Jose Sharks.

"No one's in here is saying, 'We've got to turn more pucks over, or give up more two-on-ones and three-on-twos.' But for whatever reason, they're going in. They're going in off us, they're going in every which way." - Connor McDavid
