The Edmonton Oilers, who fell short of the Florida Panthers 4-3 last night, now trail the series 3-0. Even though the squad has a difficult task ahead of them, Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch is still confident in his team's ability to complete it.

Knoblauch said the following at his news conference following the game:

"I think about the second period and how well we started, and we had a couple breakaways, some really good slot chances and then, you know, we don't score on those and I like where we were going after (Warren) Foegele scored that huge goal."

"We've had a 16-game winning streak. When things go well, we can really turn it, turn it up. And, you know, I think we've showed that we can beat this team. I think there's a lot of belief in that."

Anyone watching the series can see that Florida is controlling the play while Edmonton is struggling. In ten efforts during the series, the Oilers powerplay has been a complete failure, scoring zero goals.

On social media, one fan speculated that Knoblauch might be under the influence of something because of how ridiculous his remarks were.

Another fan's take on Knoblauch's confidence.

"Oilers 0-5 against the Panthers this season. How exactly have they shown they can beat Florida?"

The Oilers need a win on Saturday night or the Panthers will be hoisting the Stanley Cup in front of the fans in Edmonton at Rogers Place.
