The Minnesota Wild announced that forward Vinnie Hinestroza suffered a "serious" injury after his awkward collision with Pittsburgh Penguins forward Ryan Graves.
The Minnesota Wild
may have beaten the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-0, but it came at the cost of forward Vinnie Hinestroza, who is going to be out for the foreseeable future.
Hinestroza was hurt with the Wild leading 4-0 after he got tangled up with Penguins forward Ryan Graves and fell to the ice. He got up very slowly and was clearly in pain, and didn't return for the rest of the game.
Wild head coach John Hynes has now confirmed that the injury to Hinestroza is not minor and he'll have to miss some time.
Hinestroza, who is considered a journeyman after he's played for multiple teams in his NHL career, briefly spent time with the Penguins.
