Penguins division rival linked to superstar forward Artemi Panarin

Per a report from NHL analyst David Pagnotta, there are multiple teams who could be interested in acquiring Artemi Panarin from the New York Rangers, including the divisional foe Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals.

The New York Rangers have told forward Artemi Panarin, who is playing in the last year of his deal and is a pending UFA, that he will not be given a new contract.
This opens the door for a blockbuster trade out of New York, and he'll be the latest high profile figure on the move after the likes of Jacob Trouba and Chris Kreider.
Per a report from NHL analyst David Pagnotta, there are multiple teams lining up to have a shot at Panarin, including the divisional foe Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals.
David Pagnotta: The Kings, Hurricanes, Stars, Panthers, Wild and Capitals are among the teams linked to Artemi Panarin, while some speculation has also connected the Ducks and Red Wings, among others - Fourth Period (1/24)
So far this year, Panarin has 56 points (19G, 37A) in 51 games.

Artemi Panarin Was Told He Will Not Be Given A New Contract By The Rangers

It will be a disappointing end to the time of Artemi Panarin with the Rangers, who unexpectedly acquired him in 2019 as the most high profile UFA on the market.
That, along with top defensive prospect Adam Fox forcing his way to New York and the emergence of Igor Shesterkin as one of the NHL's best goalies, the Rangers seemed destined to finally win a Stanley Cup for the first time.
But during their time together with the Rangers, the team only advanced as far as the Eastern Conference Final twice, and were eliminated by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2022 and the Florida Panthers in 2024.
