Travis Konecny, one of the best players on the Pittsburgh Penguins' top divisional foe Philadelphia Flyers, was hurt after taking a shot off his knee in practice after having already missed Saturday's blowout loss to the Lightning with an injury.

It was bad news for the Philadelphia Flyers, the top divisional foe of the Pittsburgh Penguins, after forward Travis Konecny was hurt during today's practice after their blowout 7-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning last night.
Konecny, who couldn't play in last night's game because of an upper body injury, took a teammate's shot off his leg today in practice. He later tried to come back on the ice and skate it off, but that didn't last long.
Once the Flyers had wrapped up practice at their practice rink, head coach Rick Tocchet sounded like he was in wait and see mode on Konecny's knee.
Hopefully it wakes up a little bit. It was like a dead leg type of thing, so we'll see about tomorrow.

It seems like injuries, even with other teams, they come in bunches; they don't come every once in a while. You get one, two, three, four in a row, so maybe it's our turn now, we're starting to get it. You've just got to push through that stuff. - Rick Tocchet

So far this year, Konecny has 38 points (14G, 24A) in 42 games.

Travis Konecny Recently Signed A Massive Contract Extension With The Flyers

Konecny, whom the Flyers took with the 24th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, has played his entire career in a Flyers sweater, and they wanted to make sure that he played his entire prime with the team.
In 2024, the Flyers signed Konecny to a massive eight year contract extension with an AAV (average annual value) of $8,750,000, which went into effect this year.
He'll be under contract with the Flyers until 2033 when he's 35 years old.
So far in his NHL career, he has 514 points (212G, 302A) in 688 career games.
