Pittsburgh Penguins goalie prospect Sergei Murashov reflected on a special moment between himself and captain Sidney Crosby during his most recent stint in Pittsburgh after being called up from the American Hockey League.

Most people believe that Russian goaltender Sergei Murashov is the goaltender of the future for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and he's already gotten some NHL experience under his belt this year.
Murashov, who is now back with the American Hockey League affiliate Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, told a story about the kind of person he discovered that Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is thanks to a small but meaningful gesture in training camp.
I think there are very few people like Crosby. To give you a simple example, there's this story I love to tell about him. So last year, I was at my first training camp. We had a training session and there...we were doing a drill, just a regular shooting drill, a 1-on-0 type thing. And I have hockey bands on the goal....well, during the drill, those bands came off the posts, and also my stick broke.

So while we were changing sides, I went to get a new stick. I turn around and I see Sid putting those bands back on the net for me. Just like that, and there are so many moments like that with him. - Sergei Murashov
Crosby's teammates often rave about the kind of person he is, so this isn't surprising.

Sergei Murashov Gained NHL Experience With The Penguins This Year

The Penguins took Murashov with the 118th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, but he would continue his career with the KHL's Lokomotiv Yaroslavl before coming over to North America.
He began his career in the Penguins organization in the AHL, and later was called up to the Penguins this year; he played in five games, and went 1-1-2 with a .897 SV%.
In the AHL so far this year, Murashov has gone 12-4 with a .922 SV%.
