The Penguins could be at a huge advantage today as the Bruins announced that their leading scorer, Morgan Geekie, may not be able to suit up in the game.

Morgan Geekie has been listed as a possible absence for the Boston Bruins game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday at 5 p.m. ET.

Morgan Geekie departed yesterday's game after the first period

The Bruins' leading goal scorer, who has 25 goals in 45 appearances, left after the first period of Saturday's 10-2 victory over the New York Rangers due to a family issue.
Defenseman Hampus Lindholm (undisclosed) has been day-to-day and might be activated from IR in time for Sunday's game. Lindholm has been out since Jan. 3, playing 22:47 in a 3-2 overtime victory in Vancouver, where he registered an assist.
In total this year, he has 14 points (3 goals, 11 helpers) in 20:09 average ice time per game.
Center Elias Lindholm was expected to be ready after he left in the second period of Saturday's game because of a lower-body injury, but reporters were told that it was only a precaution.
Defenseman Jonathan Aspirot just received a two-year deal worth $1.8 million, starting next season, with a $887,500 average annual salary, so he may have some extra pep in his step.

Pittsburgh is also dealing with an unfortunate injury

For Pittsburgh, Ryan Rust is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and is questionable for Sunday's game. Rust, second in scoring on the team with 36 points (16 goals, 20 assists) in 40 games, sat out the 2-1 loss to Calgary on Saturday.
The Pens also called up forward Rafael Harvey-Pinard from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the AHL.
Having Geekie possibly unavailable to play against the Penguins could give them the edge they might need to come away with a win in this Sunday's clash, as Pittsburgh would be facing the Boston Bruins without the presence of their top goal-scorer.
