Arturs Silovs Joins the Penguins History Books With Outstanding Debut vs. the Rangers

Last night, new Pittsburgh Penguins addition Arturs Silovs joined Marc-Andre Fleury in the Penguins history books with an impressive debut.
Despite fans pleas for the Penguins to keep exciting prospect Sergei Murashov in the NHL Kyle Dubas and Dan Muse decided in favor of Jarry and Silovs instead.
Even after making the roster, it was unknown whether or not Silovs would start game one but ultimately Dan Muse believed he gave the Penguins the best chance to win.
In his first game with the Penguins, Silovs was able to prove he belonged in the NHL and exceeded expectations providing Penguins fans hope for the upcoming season.
Arturs Silovs Joins Elite Company With Impressive Debut
In his first game against the Rangers, Silovs provided a shutout backstopping the Penguins to a decisive 3-0 victory while going up against superstar goalie
Igor Shesterkin.
Silovs first career shutout also put him in the history books alongside Marc-Andre Fleury as he records the team's first opening night shutout since 2013 when Fleury did so.
Early on, the trade by Dubas and the Penguins to acquire Silovs for
Chase Stillman and a mid-round pick.
Even with the impressive debut, Silovs will have to prove it again in his next start that he can lead this Penguins team to heights they have not seen in years.
The Penguins next take on the New York Islanders tomorrow night which could be Silovs next opportunity to impress his new club.
