Not only is Sidney Crosby the leader of the Penguins, but he'll once again be the leader for Canada in the Olympics and will try and help them once again win gold.

Sidney Crosby has once again been tabbed to play for Canada in the 2026 Olympics, and he'll likely be named captain as he has been multiple times before throughout his career.

The Lessons From Team Canada's Camp That Resonate in Pittsburgh

By all indications, it's going to be a rough year for the Penguins, who aren't expected to come anywhere near close to competing for a postseason spot.
The positive for Pittsburgh's younger players who will soon be taking on more responsibilities as they grow in their careers is the example set by Crosby, who has confirmed his status as one of the NHL's best players.
As far as Canada is concerned, they believe his presence on their team gives them an advantage, per Scott Salmond, Hockey Canada's senior vice-president of high performance and hockey operations.
Well, we talked about if there's any advantage anymore for Canadians, or for our Canadian team. And there is. There's one. That's Sidney Crosby. When you look at our biggest competition, I don't think anyone else has that.

How Crosby's Work Ethic Defines a Franchise Two Decades Later

One of the hardest-working and most disciplined players in sports, his example isn't lost on his Canada teammate Sam Reinhart.
It's not lost on us, our generation. It doesn't look like the window's closing for him any time soon. He's a day-by-day kind of guy, focused on the now, and that's motivating for us.

Crosby had 91 points (33G, 58A) for the Penguins last year.
