The Penguins recently returned to practice and today Dan Muse addressed the media and was able to shed some light on Crosby’s next steps in the process.
Muse confirmed that Crosby will have to undergo further evaluation once he makes it back to Pittsburgh to determine the severity of his injury.
In addition, Muse confirmed Erik Karlsson will re-join the team tomorrow.
Dan Muse, on Sidney Crosby: “We’ve got to wait until he gets back and we’ll get more information then.”

Added that Erik Karlsson will return to practice on Monday.
This update from Muse is not the most promising and could indicate that there is some cause for long-term concern.
On the other hand, Crosby was a game-time decision for the gold medal game and is reportedly at around 70% health which sounds a lot more promising.
As Crosby returns to Pittsburgh, all eyes will be on him and Muse as fans anxiously await an update on the Penguins’ captain.
