New Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Brett Kulak, who was acquired as part of the blockbuster Tristan Jarry/Stuart Skinner trade with the Edmonton Oilers, could soon be on the move yet again per a new report from NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman.

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Edmonton Oilers combined for a blockbuster trade last week, as Pittsburgh sent Tristan Jarry and Sam Poulin to the Oilers for Stuart Skinner and Brett Kulak.
Right now, the Oilers are already dealing with an injury to Jarry that will keep him out for several weeks, and the Penguins are in the midst of an eight-game losing streak.
Coincidentally, Skinner's first game in a Penguins sweater came against the Oilers, and he allowed five goals in a 6-4 loss.
Kulak, the other piece of the package that the Penguins received in the trade with the Oilers, could actually soon be on the move yet again.
Per a new report from NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman, other teams were interested in Kulak before he was traded to Pittsburgh.
Elliotte Friedman: We'll see what happens with Brett Kulak. There were teams interested before he went to the Penguins, but didn't have the cap room to add - and the Oilers couldn't take money back - Sportsnet (12/20)
So far this year with the Oilers and Penguins, Kulak has two assists in 30 games played.

Brett Kulak Could Be Traded For The Second Time This Year If Friedman's Report Holds True

Kulak was taken with the 105th overall by Edmonton's divisional foe Calgary Flames in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, and he would start his NHL career with the franchise before being traded to the Montreal Canadiens for Matt Taormina and Rinat Valiev.
After helping the Canadiens on their surprise run to the 2021 Stanley Cup Final, he would be traded to the Oilers, where he would play until last week's trade to the Penguins.
So far in his NHL career, Kulak has 129 points (28G, 101A) in 641 games.
