Dan Muse is the new Penguins Head Coach, and now details on his personality and coaching style should certainly excite fans in Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Penguins went off the board for their new Head Coach in 2025, with the team opting for first time NHL Head Coach Dan Muse, who is set to officially introduce himself to the Penguins fans this week.
With little known to fans about Muse and what he brings to the table as a coach, many are anticipating that press conference to answer plenty of questions, but for those questioning the decision, Penguins team reporters have revealed some behind the scenes details about Muse.
When telling a story about Muse, Nick Bonino had nothing but praise for the way Muse connects with players and the way he works behind the scenes, noting that there's no harder workers behind the bench than Muse.
«He's just a good person. I think that's always the most important thing. Like, you can tell he cares about you. He's a great family man. In New York, we had our kids at the same hockey program, and we're talking about the PK and just talking about life. So, he's always there. I think it probably starts with that.

And he just really cares about his job. You don't meet many guys who work harder than Dan Muse. He would be at the rink at crazy hours. Just really put everything he had into the team, and I think that's what's brought him so much success and made him so deserving of this opportunity.»

While coaching with Yale, Muse made it a point of working harder than everyone else in the building, with bench boss Keith Allain noting that even though he began work at 6am every day, there was one person always there before him.
«I mean, I didn't know it was a competition. I was doing my job, and he was doing his job. But I can tell you this: I've been in hockey my whole life, and nobody I've ever been around works as hard as Dan Muse. Nobody.»

While Muse certainly isn't the biggest name out there, reports of his hard work and his connection with players have seemingly won over many Penguins fans, most of whom were very sceptical of the hire to begin with.
We'll learn more about Muse over the years as he looks to bring balance and competitiveness back to Pittsburgh as they build towards the future, but for now, it appears everyone has nothing but good things to say about the 42-year old.
