The Pittsburgh Penguins were able to come back and beat the Columbus Blue Jackets after they were down 3-1, and Kris Letang explains the moment that sparked the comeback win at Nationwide in Columbus yesterday.

It looked as though the Pittsburgh Penguins were heading for a loss at the hands of the divisional foe Columbus Blue Jackets yesterday at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, as the host Blue Jackets took a 3-1 lead into the second intermission.
But it would be the Penguins who got the last laugh thanks to a pair of third period goals from Bryan Rust and Sidney Crosby, his second of the game.
In overtime, veteran defenseman Kris Letang scored the GWG, giving the Penguins a satisfying win after trailing by two goals.
Letang then explained the moment in the team locker room that helped to spark the comeback, saying the team discussed what the problems were and then set to work on fixing them.
The entire second was not good at all.We came in the room, we assessed it, and we knew we had to respond the right way. That's what we did.

There is enough veteran leadership in the Penguins' room with names like Letang, Erik Karlsson and Bryan Rust along with longtime franchise mainstays Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.
The Penguins are off to a much better start than most fans and analysts would have expected from them, as most had them penciled in for missing the postseason for a fourth straight year.
But right now, the Penguins are in a fourth place tie in the Metropolitan Division, a far more generous placing than what was initially expected.

Penguins Captain Sidney Crosby Scored Twice In The Win Over The Blue Jackets

Not only did Crosby tie the game in the third period for the Penguins, but he was the one who scored the game's first goal in the first period.
With his two goals, Crosby now has 25 points (15G, 10A) in 23 games and is on pace for another impressive year.
Crosby has found his name embroiled in trade rumours, especially before the season began when most were speculating that the team would come nowhere close to getting a spot in the playoffs.
Crosby is known for his legendary loyalty to the Penguins and taking an incredibly team-friendly discount, as he's never accepted an AAV (average annual value) of $8.7 million, a clear nod to his sweater number.
Right now, it looks like Crosby could help to lead the Penguins within striking distance of what would be their first playoff spot since 2022 if they can keep it up.
