Kris Letang Makes Unexpected Appearance at Rival Teams' Practice

The Pittsburgh Penguins are looking towards the future, and while there have been questions over the likes of Rickard Rakell, Bryan Rust, Erik Karlsson, Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, little has been made of veteran Kris Letang.

As of right now, NHL Insider Josh Yohe has noted that no team in the NHL will take on Letang given his injury history along with his current contract, but that hasn't stopped some speculation over his future.

Unsurprisingly, many have linked the Quebec native to the Montreal Canadiens, and even after acquiring Noah Dobson this off-season, he'd no doubt be a solid depth piece for that team.

While there's little chance of that happening, some speculation has been sparked once more after Letang was seen at Canadiens practice recently, skating with and giving advice to young winger Ivan Demidov, who only arrived in the NHL late last season.

It's more likely than not that Letang was simply looking to stay in shape while spending the summer at home in Quebec, and the Canadiens are the closest team making this easy, but the sight of him on the ice with the team have some in Pittsburgh monitoring the situation.

Beyond this, Letang has been hard at work in the off-season as he looks to get back to 100% so he can contribute to some success with the Penguins, so while there's likely nothing to him skating with a rival team, if he gets back to good form, don't be shocked to hear whispers of Letang to Montreal spark up once more.
