Carter Hart appears set to return to the NHL this season, and contrary to previous reports, Kyle Dubas confirms the Penguins aren't interested.
After the controversy was put behind him, Carter Hart was officially cleared to return to the NHL recently, with several teams already reportedly reaching out to the former Philadelphia Flyers goaltender.

Now, General Manager Kyle Dubas has been asked about the situation, quickly revealing that
contrary to those reports, the team have not reached out to the goaltender, and will not do so in the future either.
This is likely the best move for the Penguins, as Hart would bring plenty of eyes and backlash from the fans to the situation, and given that they've already got a goaltending battle on their hands, he simply doesn't fit what the team are looking for.
Sure, Hart has plenty of talent in net, but given the reason he missed the past two years of action, plus the way he handled himself on the way out of Philadelphia has led many teams to declare they're not interested in Hart ahead of his potential return in 2025/26.
Now, the Penguins have confirmed that they're one of those teams, with the interest around the league in Hart seemingly dwindling, with no less than nine teams already confirming they won't be signing him, although he'll likely find a role somewhere in the league moving forward, it just won't be with Pittsburgh.
