Macklin Celebrini Shares Hilarious Story Involving Sidney Crosby at the Men's Worlds

The 2025 IIHF World Championship has been a lot of fun for Team Canada thus far, as they are 5-1 with the likelihood of competing for a Gold Medal despite what is an incredibly competitive field in 2025.

With some huge names on the team, Canada remain among the favourites to compete for gold, with the likes of Sidney Crosby and Macklin Celebrini starring for a team that has a fantastic blend of youth and medal winning experience.

Those two also appear to be forming a great friendship, and with the medal games approaching, the young San Jose Sharks star has told a hilarious story about one of his first interactions with Crosby as a teammate when he begun by calling him Mr. Crosby.

Given the immense respect that Crosby garner's in the hockey world, it's no surprise that someone like Celebrini would like to show him respect, but almost immediately, the Penguins captain corrected him, showing that he's just another player despite the experience and reverence that many Canadians have around him.

Despite all of the accomplishments, Crosby simply wanting to be called Sid instead of anything else shows just how humble he is, and with Celebrini becoming a big part of Team Canada around him at the 2025 IIHF World Championships, don't be surprised to see Captain Canada look to get him involved with the 2026 Olympic Games team as they look to chase another big time gold medal.
